About Branford Marsalis

Branford Marsalis is a renowned jazz and classical saxophonist, three-time Grammy winner, and a member of one of America’s most distinguished musical families. He is the founder of the Branford Marsalis Quartet and Marsalis Music, a company he created to record the music of promising new artists and long-time jazz musicians. He has been a frequent guest soloist with chamber and symphony orchestras and has performed with legendary jazz musicians Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Rollins, and Herbie Hancock. After Hurricane Katrina, he and Harry Connick, Jr. joined with Habitat for Humanity to construct a Musicians’ Village in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward.
