About Doug Johnson

Douglas Johnson is the Executive Director of the Center for Victims of Torture, the foremost treatment center in the United States for survivors of politically motivated torture. Founded in 1985, CVT is respected internationally for providing care to survivors and their families, for conducting research and professional training, and for influencing public policy on torture. CVT serves clients from more than 60 countries; an estimated 500,000 victims of torture live in the United States, and more than 16,000 live in Minnesota. He has been a fellow at the Albert Einstein Institute in Boston and the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, D.C. He received his Master’s Degree in Public and Private Management from the Yale University School of Organization and Management.
