About Lewis MacKenzie

Lewis MacKenzie is a major general (retired) in the Canadian military who served for nine years with NATO forces in West Germany. He also participated in nine peacekeeping tours of duty in six different countries with the United Nations. He commanded Sector Sarajevo as part of the UN Protection Force in the former Yugoslavia and later was a vocal opponent of NATO’s involvement in the Kosovo War. Following his duties with the United Nations, he was appointed commander of the army in Ontario. He retired from the Canadian Forces in 1993.
