About Sanford Unger

Sanford Ungar is a journalist who reported for the United Press International, Newsweek, and The Washington Post. From 1980 to 1982, he served as the weekday host of NPR’s All Things Considered. He is the author of the book The People and Politics of an Emerging Continent, which explores the cultural gap between the Arab north and the rest of the continent,  the multi-faceted changes within the African continent, and the relationship of African nations’ to the United States. He received a bachelor’s degree in government from Harvard College and a master’s degree in international history from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
