Sarah Lewis’ research focuses on the intersection of visual representation, racial justice, and democracy in the United States from the nineteenth century through the present.
Author of The Rise: Creativity, the Gift of Failure, and the Search for Mastery and most recently, The Unseen Truth, Ms. Lewis currently serves as the John L. Loeb Associate Professor of the Humanities and Associate Professor of African and African American Studies at Harvard University.
