About Mary Pipher
Mary Pipher is the author of Reviving Ophelia, The Shelter of Each Other, and Another Country. In her newest book, The Middle of Everywhere, she explores the changes to her hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska, after it was designated an official refugee resettlement community. Refugees from the Taliban, Kosovo survivors, Vietnamese families, and the Lost Boys of Sierra Leone share their family histories and the circumstances that brought them to America. Dr. Pipher holds a degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nebraska. She is the recipient of the American Psychological Association’s Presidential Citation for her research on the ways American culture impacts the health and well-being of its people.
