About Seyyed Hossein Nasr
Seyyed Hossein Nasr was born in Tehran and received his early education in Iran. He earned a B.S. degree in physics at M.I.T. and a Ph.D. in the history of science and philosophy at Harvard University. For 21 years, he was Professor of the History of Science and Philosophy at the University of Tehran. Since 1984, he has been Professor of Islamic Studies at George Washington University. He is the author of numerous books, including Traditional Islam in the Modern World, and the founder and first president of the Iranian Academy of Philosophy.
