Michael Mandelbaum is the Christian A. Herter Professor of American Foreign Policy at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C. Educated at Yale, Cambridge, and Harvard, he has been named one of the most influential people in American foreign policy by the World Affairs Councils of America. He is the author of ten books, including The Fate of Nations, The Global Rivals, The Nuclear Future, and his classic, The Ideas That Conquered the World: Peace, Democracy, and Free Markets.
