About Jean Kilbourne
Jean Kilbourne is a media critic, lecturer, writer, and filmmaker. In her award-winning films, Still Killing Us Softly, Calling the Shots, and Pack of Lies, she exposes the cumulative impact of advertising on individual attitudes, values, and behavior, and on society as a whole. She encourages her audiences to understand that although ads may seem harmless and silly, they add up to a powerful form of cultural conditioning. She is a visiting scholar at Wellesley College and serves on the National Advisory Council on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
