About Joan Chittister
Joan Chittister is a member of the Benedictine Sisters of Erie, PA, and founder of Benetvision, a resource and research center for contemporary spirituality. She is the author of more than 40 books on church and society, peacemaking and social justice, and spirituality and the religious life, including The Gift of Years and The Radical Christian Life. She is co-chair of the Global Peace Initiative of Women, a partner organization of the U.N., which facilitates a worldwide network of women peace-builders. She holds an M.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a Ph.D. in speech communication theory from Penn State University.
