About Harrison Salisbury

Harrison Salisbury is a journalist, historian, and specialist on the Soviet Union and China. A native of Minnesota, he served as the Moscow correspondent for The New York Times and later as an editor and writer for The Times. The author of 25 books, he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for international correspondence. His book Tiananmen Diary: Thirteen Days in June recounts his experiences in Tiananmen Square during the time of the massacre in June 1989.
