About Garrison Keillor

Garrison Keillor is a writer, storyteller, humorist, and host of the nationally-broadcast radio program A Prairie Home Companion. He was born and raised in Anoka, MN, and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in English. While in college, he began his broadcasting career at the student-operated radio station KUOM. He began his professional career in 1969 with Minnesota Educational Radio and later joined Minnesota Public Radio. He has written magazine and newspaper articles for The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, and National Geographic, and he is the author of the book Happy to Be Here.
