Brian McLaren is an author, preacher, and prominent leader in the emergent church movement. He is the founding pastor of Cedar Ridge Community Church, a nondenominational church in Spencerville, MD, where he served until 2006, and he is a member of the board of Sojourners. His books include A New Kind of Christian, Generous Orthodoxy, Everything Must Change, and his latest, A New Kind of Christianity, which examines ten issues that will shape the future of the church. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in English from the University of Maryland.
